Four New Artworks for
Greyfriars Bus Station, Northampton

Open Spaces Open Places invite you join us celebrate the opening of OSOP 08 at our launch party in the Courtyard of the Fishmarket Gallery with a glass of PIMM’S and the sound of classic summer soul music drifting in the evening air.

The ninth year of Open Spaces Open Places features the work of Michael Shaw, Jonathan Velardi, Rich White and student bursary recipient, Lisa Berry, who have been commissioned to make new artworks that will be presented in and around Greyfriars Bus Station, Northampton. The artworks reflect their individual artistic practices and their particular interest in this much debated public building.

Walkie Talkie
Saturday 7 June, 12pm
Greyfriars Caféteria, Greyfriars Bus Station, Lower Level
Meet at Greyfriars Café for complimentary tea and toast which will be followed by a walking tour of the artworks led by the artists. The tour will end at Fishmarket Gallery where you will be welcome to stay and take part in an informal discussion about art in public spaces, led by curator Sophie Hope. Sophie is co-founder of the curatorial partnership B+B and her current projects include publishing a ‘Manifesto of Possibilities’ for commissioning public art.

Join local arts organisation, Seahouses, who will be leading a lively programme of drop-in art activities that have been inspired by the commissioned artworks.
