Yesterday Robin Clare, Adrian Pinckard, Mig Gilbert and Janet Cooper spoke to Sue Marchant on BBC Radio Northampton about their work and the project. Great publicity for Open Spaces Open Places (OSOP), as well as the WALKING TOUR which was also spoken about.

The Walking Tour was a great success. With nineteen people enjoying all the artwork and being able to interact with the artists themselves.

Welcome to the sixth year of Open Spaces Open Places. The project runs alongside and is part of the Northampton Festival.
Focusing on the visual arts, the project features photography, painting, sculpture, installation, site specific work, a fine art documentary video and much more. The exhibitions celebrate the talent of eighteen artists from Northamptonshire and beyond.
OSOP’s key aims this year is to commission five artists to make new work and develop new partnerships. Chris Wood, John Murray, Russ Maggs and Anna Pharoah are commissioned to make new art work. OSOP is delighted to announce the new partnership with University College Northampton providing a bursary award for Janet Cooper, a Fine Art student.
Walking tours (a guided tour to meet the artists in the venues): A wonderful opportunity to meet the artists and talk about their work. All tours to begin outside the Central Library at 11 am on Friday June 10th, Saturday June 18th and June 25th. Tour lasts approximately one and a half hours and free coffee will be provided for those who complete the journey!
