Anita R Mudaliar - new artwork

OSOP commissioned Anita R Mudaliar to make new work which is now on display at the central library, Abington Street and the Museum & Art Gallery, Guildhall Road, Northampton. Tabletop Skirmishes (2006) comprises of two installations which stem from a body of work exploring the theme of self-conflict. The work may appear to possess a certain familiarity for the viewer due to its fairytale-like imagery but it is not taken from any particular story. At first flance the work seesm to have a humorous and playfully enticing quality; however a closer inspection reveals more disturbing undertones in this portrayal of an individual experiencing conflict.
