Call for submissions

OSOP commissions contemporary art in non-gallery spaces in and around Northampton. We welcome submissions by emerging artists in a range of media and practises.

In June, 2008 there will be up to five commissions for new artwork to be situated in, or near, Greyfriars Bus Station (following last year's successful project in this venue).

The Bus Station has become a site of controversy: locally, regionally and nationally, after it was nominated as the second worst eyesore in Britain on Channel 4. Nevertheless it also has its supporters, including passengers and architects.

More details can be found at:

As part of the commission selected artists must be available to install the work on site as well as attend at least two/three events where they will have the opportunity to discuss their work with the general public.

Commission: Up to five commissions of £1000 (plus £200 towards material costs) dependant on number of artists selected.
